ABVM Vascular and Endovascular Medicine Certification Examinations Transition from On-Demand Administration to Windowed Delivery Format 

Due to the small number of applications, the American Board of Vascular Medicine (ABVM) Vascular and Endovascular Medicine certification examinations will no longer be available year-round. The examinations will only be available annually during a 30-day administration window. We anticipate the first administration window will be in Q3 2025. This permanent move will help us maintain the psychometric validity of the examinations. The application will close on April 30, 2024, and the last day to take exams is July 10, 2024. 

Please note for windowed examinations: 

  • The administration for windowed examinations is only open during certain “windows” of time.  
  • Candidates are provided with a window of eligibility for taking the examination. 
  • Scores are available approximately 60 days after the close of the administration. 

No Changes for Current Certification Holders 

Current holders of the ABVM Vascular and Endovascular certifications will see no changes to their certification status. Existing certifications will remain valid until their stated expiration dates. For those with certifications expiring in 2025, information regarding maintenance of certification/recertification will be available before the end of 2024.
