Certification Board of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (CBCMR)

The Alliance for Physician Certification & Advancement™ (APCA™) is pleased to announce it will be launching a new physician certification in cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR).

To earn certification in cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR), Candidates must meet all requisite eligibility criteria and pass a secure, proctored examination.  Please consult the full description of eligibility requirements by visiting the Eligibility Requirements section.

The CBCMR examination assesses Candidates on their knowledge, skills and abilities in preparing patients for CMR studies, selecting appropriate protocols, conducting CMR studies in a spectrum of scenarios and interpreting the results, and performing post-processing tasks.

Job Task Analyses are conducted to establish and periodically update the CBCMR examination to reflect the frequency and importance of CMR tasks performed by physicians.

The CBCMR certification examination is administered during a one-month window each year, at the Pearson VUE test centers located worldwide. Examination results are available on My APCA approximately 60 days after the close of the administration window. The inaugural 2019 examination will be held between May 7 – June 7. The 2019 application window will open on January 15, 2019.
