CBCCT Eligibility Changes Coming in 2021

In 2021, the following changes will be implemented to CBCCT Eligibility Criteria:

  •  Adoption of the COCATS 4 Task Force 7:

    Training in Cardiovascular Computed Tomography Level 2 training requirements (revised 2015) for Cardiology certification Applicants, to include a minimum of 250 cases, for which, in a minimum of 65 cases, the physician was physically present and involved in the acquisition, interpretation and reporting of the study.  All cases must have been completed within the time frame of the Applicant’s fellowship program.​

  • ​​Phase-out of the Experience Pathway: Applicants must have had formal cardiovascular CT training in an accredited Cardiology fellowship, Nuclear Medicine or Radiology residency, Advanced Imaging fellowship, or “Mini CCT Fellowship” program (see FAQs for details).

Note: Experience Pathway Candidates who sat for the CBCCT certification examination prior to 2021 and who failed will be able to sit in 2021 and 2022 (if needed).​​
