Every October, the Alliance for Physician Certification & Advancement (APCA) joins its companion Council, the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography® (ARDMS®) to celebrate Medical Ultrasound Awareness Month (MUAM).
How are we celebrating?
This year, we are celebrating MUAM by asking: “Why are you proud to be a healthcare provider utilizing ultrasound?” Share your wisdom and insights to inspire the next generation of medical professionals!
Participate in this year’s campaign and you will be entered for a chance to win multiple prizes, including:

How to Enter the Random Drawing
- Share 2–5 sentences on why you are proud to be a healthcare provider using ultrasound, or describe a meaningful experience. *Optional: submit a photo along with your entry.

MUAM is a collaborative effort involving the Society for Diagnostic and Medical Sonography (SDMS), American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM), American Society of Echocardiography (ASE), Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), and Society for Vascular Ultrasound (SVU).
We will showcase your valuable advice throughout October and November as part of our MUAM campaign. At the end of October, the winners of the drawing will be chosen at random from the list of participants and will be announced by November 13, 2025.
